Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and His messenger Muhammad (May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have provided us with all the means necessary to protect ourselves from being harmfully affected by the shayateen.
Do the following, and by the will of Allah, it will be very difficult on the shayateen:
- Humble yourself to Allah
- Do Dua at times when your dua is more likely to be accepted, such as between adhan and Iqaama, the last third of the night, between ‘Asr and Maghreb on a Friday. (1a) During Rain (1b) While Prostrating in Prayer. Etc.
- Pray your five daily prayers on time. Whilst praying, forget the whole world and concentrate on your connection with your Lord. Take your time while praying and try to focus on understanding the verses you are reciting.
- Eat 7 ‘ajwah dates first thing in the morning if available, or as some scholars have said that any other good quality dates are acceptable but try to make sure they are from Madeenah if possible. (2)
- Play Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Al-Imran in the house at a high volume at least once every three days. Make sure all room doors are open while the Qur’an is playing.
- Recite the daily recommended adhkaar (morning, evening, after prayers, and before sleeping). (refer to dua tab)
- Eat healthy foods and exercise regularly.
- Try to be in the state of Wudhu at all times by taking wudhu upon each time you break it.
- Take Wudhu before going to bed, then sit in your bed and cup your hands together with the right hand a little over the left; do three dry spits and recite the following:
1x surah Al Ikhlas
1x Surah Falaq
1x Surah Naas
Then wipe your entire body beginning from the head to toe as much as your hands can cover and repeat this three times.
- Lie on your right while in bed and recite ayat al Kursi and the last two verses of Surah Al Baqarah (Aamana Rasool). (3 &4)
- Hijaama (cupping) is also known to be very effective, especially if the cups are placed on the affected areas of the body (please make sure you have an experienced person who specializes in Hijaama)
- Vomiting is another effective way of removing magic if the magic has rested in the stomach. Vomiting may happen naturally during the treatment, or if one is about to vomit while getting treated, if it is difficult to vomit, then one may place their finger down the mouth.
- Removal of magic via the excretion and loosening of the bowels with Senna (5) Senna is easily prepared just like one prepares tea and then should be drunk. Senna is a natural herb which can be found in shops that sell herbs; it can be also found in Middle Eastern shops or health shops.
- There are some surahs or verses which are mentioned on the tab “how to perfrom ruqya on oneself”, if the patient is able to recite those particular surahs/verses on a regular basis, it will inshaAllah lead to a quicker recovery.
